The session begins at 10am and ends at 12pm in the Grant Thornton VIP Lounge at NYCB LIVE. The Long Island Nets’ partner GIECO has donated a bank of tickets for local community organizations and iluvbball has been selected for our game on 1/23. Brooklyn Nets games will be broadcast regionally on the YES Network for the 17th consecutive season.
On 5 May, the Dons announced Hamilton Academical youth Lewis Ferguson would be joining the club on 1 July 2018, paying a development fee. On 26 April, Aberdeen youth lost the Scottish Youth Cup final to Hibernian youth 3–1 at Hampden Park. After regaining second place in the League, Aberdeen lost 2–0 at Hibernian and then lost at home to Celtic by the same scoreline. This was the tenth time in a row that Aberdeen had lost to Celtic under Brendan Rodgers. On 3 August, Aberdeen were again knocked out of the Europa League at the third qualifying round stage for the 4th year in a row, this time at the hands of Apollon Limassol. What does this mean for ScotRail services on 24-27 December?
It was the first time the Dons played English opposition in Europe since Ipswich Town in 1981. On 5 June, Chris Forrester joined the club from Peterborough United for a fee believed to be in the region of £150,000. On 12 June, the club announced that their Pre-season training camp would be taking place in Ireland and the club would play a friendly against Cobh Ramblers. On 14 June, defender Anthony O'Connor joined Bradford City on a three-year deal. After his release from Ipswich Town, Irish International Stephen Gleeson signed on a two-year deal. In the pre-season, Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes was the subject of press speculation regarding a potential move to English Premier League team Sunderland.
All registered players will receive a Long Island Nets t-shirt and will play in a minimum of three games. Winning teams in each division will receive a trophy along with four complimentary tickets to the Long Island Nets’ home opener this November where they will be recognized on-court during halftime. Registration for the 3v3 tournament is $160 per team and the deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 5. On 20 June, the Europa League Second Qualifying Round draw was made and the Dons were drawn against English Premier League club Burnley.
They were drawn at home in the next round against the winner of either Kilmarnock or Rangers with the latter winning in the replay. During the match whilst broadcasting for BBC Scotland, Derek Ferguson announced his son was set to sign a new deal with the club. Defender Tommie Hoban was injured in the match and a few days later, he was ruled out until the end of the season through another knee injury. The 3v3 basketball tournament is open to youth ages 8-16 and teams can consist of up to three players and one substitute.
On 17 June, Jonny Hayes signed for Celtic for £1.3 million plus a season-long loan for Ryan Christie. Christie had been on loan at the club for the second half of last season.
